1 presentation down, 1 more to go.
Was stoning during other groups' presentations when I suddenly recalled:
'YOU! GET LOST!' and the sound of much laughter following that. :)
A grin crept across my face and I started smiling to myself like a goondu, until I remembered that I was supposed to be listening and stopped myself.
I guess this sem has been some sort of a challenge (now that I'm calm enough to reflect), what with my EDA group with me as the only local and that yr 3 who only occupies space; the MA group with the yr 4 mentioned in the previous post... 2 presentations in a day, quizzes and brain-wrecking assignments, countless meetings and more.
I remember what I gleaned from Evan Almighty and what I shared in youth:
'If you ask God for patience, does He give you patience or does He give you opportunities to be patient? If you ask God for courage, does He give you courage or does He give you opportunities to be brave?'
I think... that God has been challenging me to trust Him even more this sem. To trust Him in the one thing that I always like to rely on myself for: my studies. To surrender to Him the burden of work, projects and people-relationships, and simply believe that He'll bring me through, regardless of how trying the process can be. Trust me, the process IS trying. But through it all the emphasis is not on how big a problem I'm facing, but how big my GOD is. That He is always, always in control even when things seem bleak, and that He always, always, is reaching out His Hand to me, if I would only grasp it.
So, a testimony is in order!
I just ended my first presentation (EDA) and initially I was wondering if we would even have time to present to the class cos our Prof has such poor time management. :X To top it off, 1 groupmate had an interview at 1230pm and another supposedly had to rush off at 1130am. (But he delayed the appointment somehow). I was sitting in my seat, counting the minutes and praying that God would provide the best way for us. Not just a way, but the BEST way for our group to present, be it in front of the class or only the Prof in her office. And for Him to make a way for my 2 groupmates who had to rush off to present and yet be on time for their appointments.
Y'know what?
Our class was supposed to end at 1145am, and the 2nd last group held fort till 1123am or so. Our presentation's supposed to be 20min EXCLUDING Q&A. Thank God, our presentation went smoothly and even got some laughter from the class! My groupmate who turned up in tee and berms (when we were supposed to wear formal) was used by another groupmate as part of a joke and the class responded positively. Amazing. We ended at 1144am and received 3 questions which we could answer. The Prof even responded to our charts with a 'Very Good!'. Wow. God answered my prayers for the class and Prof to look upon us with favour! After the presentation I was talking to one of my friends and thanking him for his encouragement cos when I was speaking, he would nod understandingly! (People, do NOT doubt the power of a nod, especially during presentations. :P) And then he said, 'Actually your group's presentation was the best out of all the groups so far. The style and substance were easy to understand.'
I was gaping in amazement!
Truly, God has shown me that He is in charge, and that He hasn't let me down. Even though me with my little faith wondered how well my group would do with 4 different accents in our presentation, He brought us through! I'm sorry Lord, that I ever doubted You. Thank You for teaching me to trust in You during difficult times!
Our God is amazing! :)
He Gave Me Beauty For Ashes (Uncle Fang Chien sang this yesterday)
He gave me beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise
For the spirit of heaviness.
That we might be trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord
That He might be glorified.
Oh oh and, thank God for lovely friends who bring cheer in times of need. Y'all know who you are. :)

'Can I don't rehearse now? I think I'm not prepared.'
- Miss Supposed-Asset-turned-Liability.
I'm boiling, fuming so badly, that I think I'm going to implode if this goes on any longer. I have a whole tirade that I could unleash but oh, no, I shall be Miss-Nice-and-Diplomatic and be kind to undeserving teammates.
One line would sum up my sentiments toward her: What exactly have you done in this project?
I want to go home.

Like so many Mondays of this sem, I stepped into school at 0750ish, feeling like I was merely existing.
Don't want to acknowledge it, but it seems like school is getting more and more tiring as each week passes... And my only consolation is that my misery will all be over in 4 weeks. Presentation tomorrow, 2 presentations next Monday, 1 written report due in 2 weeks, 4 exams in 3... And my MA group has barely started on our project presentation due next week. Complacency? Mis-calculation? I don't know. I can sense the undertones of stress in the emails, but what can we do about it? Maybe it was my fault I didn't initiate a meeting earlier... Was too concerned with the EDA group. I didn't know it was going to be this tough.
God, I don't want just to exist, I want to live! I want to be different; enable me to be different, strengthen me so I will not be overwhelmed by my circumstances! Happiness depends on circumstances, but JOY comes from the Lord. I claim that joy in Jesus' Name! :)
Nehemiah 8:10 Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

There was me, my keys, my hairclip, the car with the windows wound down, and music as my company.
Sweet. :)
It was the most relaxing thing I'd done in awhile on my own, taking the car out on impulse (with the excuse of exercising the car.. Yup humans aren't the only ones needing exercise ya know), driving aimlessly, randomly taking turns yet with the confidence that I would know my way back home. Yes, I stayed within the confines of Yishun, where were y'all expecting me to go - Jurong?? :P
Ended up at Northpoint area haha. Then I decided to turn back and stop wasting petrol.
Nonetheless, a nice trip. :)

Mind trying to prioritize the many things to do by TMR morning..
- Ethics readings
- MS assignment
- EDA research
and I end class at 645pm. Wheee..
Longing for Thursday to come so I can be done with this crazy 3-day week, which looks set to become even more hectic.
But. Thank God for busy days, so that I can appreciate the non-busy ones and rely on Him for strength during the busy ones. Thank God that even though I've got so many things to do I'm not panicking, I don't even feel stressed! Haha.. :)
Alright, back to studying.. got a test later. Toodles.

I wished I was 5 again,
Then I could run to my daddy, curl up in his arms...
And just let it all go.
I would tell him about everything I was facing, what I really felt...
I would tell him about all the things that were troubling me,
Without worrying that he might think lesser of me.
I would be his little girl again,
And daddy would make it better,
Chase away the rain.
But I'm a Big Girl now,
Big Girls don't behave like little ones...
And my boo-boos are no longer so simple.
Complete
Here I am O God
I bring this sacrifice
My open heart
I offer up my life
I look to You Lord
Your love that never ends
Restores me again
So I lift my eyes to You Lord
In Your strength will I break through Lord
Touch me now, let Your love fall down on me
I know Your love dispels all my fears
Through the storm I will hold on Lord
And by faith I will walk on Lord
Then I'll see beyond my Calvary one day
And I will be complete in You

Happy things about today: 1. I won my first Scrabulous game! 2. I'm done with midterms! 3. Mummy cooked MACARONI, one of my most favourite foods cooked by her. 4. CSI season 8 later at 10pm! :D :D :D 5. MOST of all, I'm happy cos I thank God for everyday! Every day is a gift from him (a recent lesson I learnt from QT). God is in control, and He knows what He's doing! I can wish that everyday was Friday, the weekend or holidays, but God has given days to work and days to play. He knows what's best, so I should be content with everyday. Each day is a special gift from Him, so I want to appreciate every day. :)
I won my first Scrabulous game!! :D :D :D So happy that I must share my joy and capture this moment forevermore. :P A game that stretched for 8 days.. Hurhur. And I thought all hope was lost when I kept losing, a friend even took one look at my screen and said I was being WOOPED, but hoho, just a simple word like 'Slave' got me 63 points and closed the gap immediately! :) Yay!

Alright, the reason why I'm so excited is cos one of the few TV drama serials that I actually follow is starting a new season! Presenting..........*drumrolls* CSI Season 8 :D Season 7 ended on a cliffhanger, that's why I can't wait to watch Wed's episode to find out what happened to the poor CSI trapped under an overturned car. Argh. The distractions of today's world... :X
And and and, Rach posted a suuuuper sweet poem on our class blog! Totally makes me miss the days in JC... probably the most shortlived school terms I've had. 2 years, filled with countless events and lovely friendships that contribute to my memories of HC. :) Sometimes I think that 2 years is too short.. and other times I thank God that I only went through 2 years of failing Phy and Chem! Haha...
68 people, go check it out if you haven't already! :)
